Four routes

How people work with SWEEF

Staff positions

Programme, technical, finance, MERL, partnerships, safeguarding, communications and field roles, based in Somalia. Recruitment includes vetting and reference checks, and all contracts carry safeguarding clauses.

Consultancies

Short-term technical assignments: baselines and evaluations, value-chain and market assessments, curriculum development, financial-product design, applied research.

Internships

Structured placements for young Somali graduates, with particular encouragement for young women entering the development, finance and agribusiness sectors.

Volunteering

Community-based and technical volunteering, coordinated through SWEEF’s field operations and partner organizations.

Our commitments as an employer

What applicants can expect

  • Recruitment on merit, with deliberate encouragement of applications from Somali women
  • Vetting and reference checks at recruitment, applied consistently to all roles
  • Safeguarding clauses in every contract and sub-agreement, including consultancies
  • Mandatory safeguarding induction for all personnel, with periodic refresher training
  • Confidential reporting channels available to staff as well as to participants and communities
  • No fee is ever charged to an applicant at any stage of recruitment

SWEEF will hold these on file and contact individuals when a matching assignment opens. No response should be taken as an offer or an indication of a live vacancy.
